Six Feet Under was formed in 1993 by then Cannibal Corpse singer, Chris Barnes and Allen West (Obituary). Six Feet Under has produced 9 full length albums to date. Six Feet Under is one of the larger Death Metal bands in the country, enjoying a level of success not common to the genre.

SFU’s ’sound’ is usually less technical than most modern Death Metal bands, and owes more to Thrash Metal. It could be said, that Six Feet Under is more of an ‘Old School’ Death Metal band. A term has been coined for their style, called ‘Death N Roll’.
